Phuket pays homage to Father of Thai LawOn Thursday August 7th 2014, a contingent of PPAO officials, including Deputy Chief Executive – Chaowalit Na Nakorn, Council Member – Boonum Uerjittrakul and staff, took part in a commemorating ceremony for HRH Krom Luang Ratchaburi Direkrit or Prince Rapeepattanasak, also known as the “Father of the Thai Law” at the prince’s statue in front of the Phuket Provincial Court. The President of the Juvenile and Family Court Region 8 Somsak Kwankaeo presided over the ceremony.

Prince Rapee was the son of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). He obtained a law degree from Christchurch College, Oxford University. He was later appointed Chief of Justice Ministry by the King. He has helped to establish a foundation for modern Thai legal system that is still in use today.
