Phuket City Hall to be renovated in Sino-Portuguese style

20 November 2009 – Phuket Governor Vichai Praisa-ngob yesterday chaired the meeting to discuss the city hall re-landscaping project. Governor of Phuket Mr Chaiwat Thepee Deputy, Chief of Phuket Governor Office Mr Peeraboon Thongsiriseth, and  other concerning officials were also in the discussion.

Governor Vichai said Phuket City Hall’s building was built since Phraya Rassadanupradit Mahissarapakdi governed over Phuket more than 120 years ago. The building has been registered as the ancient remains since 1977.

The result of the meeting, everyone is agree to renovate the decadent fence, signage and guardhouse of the City Hall. Suggested to focus on Sino-Portuguese design, to reflex Phuket’s characteristics the most.
