Phuket Assesses Jet Ski Problems & Solutions

February 25th, 2010 –  Teerayuth Aiumtrakul, a Vice Governor of Phuket, on behalf of the ‘Jet Ski Problem Follow up and Solving Committee’ presided over the meeting of the committee to assess the performance of the committee. The beginning of the meeting was a report on the general Jet Ski situation at five beaches namely Patong Beach, Kata–Karon Beaches, Kamala Beach, & Bang Tao Beach.

It was found that  some of the Jet Ski owners let tourists rent unregistered jet skis which is not fair to people who register everything under the law. Consequently, the committee founded the new committee called Jet Ski Standard Promotion and Problem Solving Committee to sort out that problem. This new committee consists of the district officers at each beach, local police, representatives from Marine Transportation Office, Tourist Police, representative from TAT Phuket and local residents.
