Qatar Airways celebrated its 10th year providing flights to Thailand

On November 4th, at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Hotel, Mr. Akbar Al Baker, the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, presided over a press conference by the airline. Mr. Joe Rajadurai, a regional manager of Qatar Airways in Cambodia, Burma and Thailand, and Mr. Marwan Koleilat, Senior Vice President Commercial East Asia & Southwest Pacific of Qatar Airways attended the event.

The press conference was help to mark the 10th year anniversary that the airline had provided flights to Thailand. The airline had recently increased the direct flights from Doha to Bangkok with new flights to Phuket, increasing from 14 flights a week to 28 flights a week to Thailand, in order to celebrate this occasion.

Mr. Akbar Al Baker said that the increased flights reflected a good relationship between Thailand and Qatar. The direct flights to Phuket (via KL) help promote tourism in Phuket all year round. The airlines received good feedback from passengers travelling with the flights. It had just increased flights to Phuket to be daily since 1 November.
