Phuket, Thailand, August 2009 – A pairing of a three-Star Michelin Chef and a Master Wine Maker – a first for Phuket – has resulted in a successful collaboration, kicking off the first Sense of Occasion event at Banyan Tree Phuket.
Mr. Christian Le Squer, talented three-star Michelin Chef at Le Doyen Paris Champs Elysees and Mr. Pascal Jolivet, renowned Wine Producer from Sancerre and Pouilly Fume joined hands in creating an exquisite dining experience at Tre’ Restaurant. It was Mr. Le Squer’s first visit to the Kingdom of Thailand and Phuket.
“Sense of Occasion” proved to be a sought after event with trade personalities including Sethaphan Buddhani, TAT Phuket Director, Teerapol Chotichanapibal, VP Commercial Development & Support, Acting Director of Royal Orchid Holidays, Bert Lambrichs, VP Sales & Marketing, Diethelm Travel, Tan Han Soo, SilkAir – Manager Thailand in attendance. Journalists flying in specially from Korea, China, Middle East and USA also had the opportunity to experience the special menu.
Following the success of ‘Sense of Occasion’ in August, Master Chef Kaiseki Cuisine, Mr. Tadashi Sawauchi from Okura Tokyo’s signature Japanese restaurant, Yamazato, will visit Banyan Tree Phuket from 19th to 23rd September to showcase his signature dishes at Tre’ Restaurant.
