Thai Airways to service Phuket-Shanghai route

Thai Airways International PCL togther with Department of Civil Aviation, Airport of Thailand (AOT) and The Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA) to host a seminar “Enhancing Air Traveling to Thailand” aimed at Chinese travel agents to discuss aviation and tourism on 2-3 December 2009 at the Pullman Bangkok Hotel.

It is believed that China is a potentially powerful market for Thailand because of its huge population and a massive GDP growth. Furthermore, Thailand is not only the destination for Chinese tourists and businessman but we are also the regional hub for travelers needing to make a connecting flights to North America, Middle East, Australia and Europe.

Thai Airways currently operates both domestic and international flights to 73 destinations around the world including China. There are more than 45 flights per week to six major cities in China: Beijing, Kunming, Chengdu, Xiamen, Guangzhou and Shanghai.

Thai Airways has a plan to operate Phuket-Shanghai route in the near future, and is now considering to open Phuket-Beijing as well.
