Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa announces the appointment of its new Indian Chef

Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa – Marriott’s lifestyle beachfront resort on Mai Khao, Phuket is proud to introduce Dabbal Singh Rawat as its new Indian Specialty Chef, who will be handling all aspects of Indian food and beverage for the resort’s five dining outlets as well as groups, weddings, social events and ensuring a high-quality service for which Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa is known.

Chef Singh’s culinary journey began in 1999 when he started as an Assistant Cook, followed by an Indian Cook and Commis Chef at well-known hotels and resorts in New Delhi, India before moving to Thailand ten years later.

He then started his career with Marriott International as a Commis Chef and Banquets in 2012 at The Athenee Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok and quickly rose through the culinary ranks holding several leadership positions and responsibilities specializing in weddings and meetings in other luxury hotels and resorts in Bangkok, Cha-Am, and Hua Hin. Prior to joining the team at Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, he served as an Indian Chef de Cuisine at the Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa.

Commenting on his appointment, Chef Singh said, “I’m excited to join this amazing team at Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa. This will be a great chance for me to utilize my abilities and experience of managing a dynamic team and making special variety dishes of Indian cuisine in a professional and rewarding environment.”

Some of Chef Singh must-try dishes including Murgh Makhanwala which is the popular authentic chicken tikka in rich creamy tomato gravy, Lamb Rogan Josh or Indian style lamb curry with onions, tomato sauce and masala spices, and Vegan Paneer Butter Masala that is made from cottage cheese with cashew nuts and onion tomato gravy.
