Wednesday, 7 October, 2009 – Mr. Wichai Praisa-nob, Phuket Governor has consulted with Mr. Anukul Sangtongchai and related government officers about the new ” Orang Laut Cultural Centre” at Koh Sirey (near a Tsunami Village’s entrance).
Mr. Anukul said “The recently collaboration of Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planing with Rasada Municipal and Phuket Culture to continue the unique tradition and culture of Sea Gypsies”.
There are three parts in the building; first part consists of the exhibition, demonstrable activities and library. Next part is reception and souvenir room, the last part is a fairground.
Phuket Governor said “This new cultural centre will be a studying place for everyone and also be a cultural tourism attraction for foreigners”
