Wanprapa Suksomboon, the assistant director of TAT Phuket, said that there will be lots of foreigners coming to enjoy Songkran festival in Phuket this year. Now 80% of hotel rooms in Phuket were reserved and she’s confident that 90 -100% of beach front hotel rooms will booked.
This year TAT Phuket, together with private and government sectors, will hold the colorful Songkran festival both in the area of Patong Beach and Phuket Town.
In Patong the center of the activities will be in Soi Bangla lane under the concept of ‘The Water Festival on the Beach’ held on April 12th-13th, 2010. While Thalang Road in Phuket Town will be the place people can enjoy Thai style Songkran splashing. On the Songkran day, the road in front of TAT Phuket and the Queen Sirikit Public Park will be decorated with crafted ice, iced walls and iced mountains. Sounds cool, doesn’t it. Let’s have fun there on April 13th – 15th, 2010. See ya!
