Amazing Thailand ‘SHA’ Will Be Thailand’s New Standards of Hygiene, Sanitation, and Safety for Businesses and Tourism
Taking in seriously the fact that sanitation and safety will be the common denomination of tourism post-COVID 19, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is now working with Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health and Ministry of Tourism and Sports in the launch of the ‘Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA)’ standards to boost confidence of safety for all tourists visiting the Kingdom. Operators with the SHA-approved sign mean they have passed the scrupulous hygiene, sanitation, and safety inspections, providing a real peace of mind for those wishing to visit their businesses.
Businesses can apply for the SHA approval free of charge. Meanwhile, visitors can also reflect the experiences they receive from the approved businesses as another way to cross-inspect each and every place to enhance the confidence of safety even further. Once the SHA approval has been issued to a business, random follow-up inspections will also be made to ensure the continued standards. SHA inspectors will include the central and provincial public health offices, Department of Tourism, TAT, and DASTA (Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism), meaning the inspections will be ongoing in all levels and in all areas of the Kingdom.
SHA-approved businesses will be announced throughout TAT’s local and international publicity platforms. TAT’s SHA registrar, now open for application from 18th May 2020, is now seeing massive amount of applications coming in, reflecting clearly the awareness among the Thai operators who wish to be on par with hygiene and sanitation standards for the safety of their staff as well as their visitors.
