Sethaphan Buddhani, Director of TAT Phuket Office said that there will be 27 direct flights to Phuket during the Vegetarian Festival this year. 2 flights a week from Guangzhou, Shanghai and Kunming plus many flights from Singapore and Malaysia.
Survey revealed that 60 percent of total 38,000 accommodations in Phuket has already been reserved. 4,200 of those are in Phuket town where rooms are fully booked on the last three days of this nine-day-long festival.
The festival is believed to attract both domestic and international tourists and expected to have Baht 200 million circulated in the economy.
Teerawuth Sritulaluk, chairman of Jui Tui shrine said General Pijit Kullavanit will chair the the “Koh Teng” Pole Raising Ceremony of Jui Tuil shrine on 17th October, 2009 at 5.09pm.

Times of the walking street (part of Ranong Road) extended this year. Open at 6pm and close at 10pm. Longer opening hours for people and tourists to enjoy activities along the road.
