A summer sports camp “Kila Pasuk Puer Lukrak” was officially opened by Chief Executive – Paiboon Upattising on March 14th 2014, at Sala Prachakhom Hall, Phuket City. In attendance at the opening were Chief Executive Advisor – Boonserm Suwannarathphoom, Council Member – Boon-um Uertrakul, Division Heads, officials, coaches, and parents.
Organized by PPAO, the summer camp aims to encourage the 500 participating children and young people to take up sport and spend their free time creatively and to steer them away from drugs and other vices. It will also lay the foundations for good practices of certain games rules. Training sessions, taking place between March 13 and April 30, include:
1. Football – participated by 320 young people and taking place in Sanamchai Field in Sapan Hin (for participants from Amphoe Mueang) and Kathu football field (for participants from Amphoe Kathu)
2. Swimming – participated by 180 young people and taking place at the PPAO swimming pool.
Training sessions for both sports have been given support by Tourism Authority of Thailand Phuket branch and Phuket Swimming Club. Opening the proceeding, Mr Paiboon commended the parents who have registered their children in this program. He urged young people to be disciplined and heed the advices and training tips from coaches, teachers and parents. He ended by thanking the parents, PPAO council members and officials as well as coaches who work hard to organize this event.
