A team from the Muang Thalang School emerged as champions at the close of the PPAO Junior League Football 2014 on August 28th 2014. PPAO Deputy Chief Executive – Soratham Jinda presided over the closing ceremony while President of Phuket Sports Association and PPAO Council Member – Saroj Angkanapilas gave a closing speech. The ceremony was attended by PPAO officials and staff, teachers, students, coaches, and young footballers.
The PPAO Junior League Football is organized yearly by PPAO. Ten school teams competed in this year’s event, which took place from July 15 – August 28. They were: Muang Thalang, Phuket Wittayalai, Cherng Talay Wittayakom, Dow Rung Wittaya, Wittayalai Technic, Chalerm Phrakiat, PPAO Ban Talard Neu, Muslim Wittaya, Kathu Wittaya, and Racha Pracha Nukroh 36 schools. Along with the football, a futsal tournament was also competed in.
Mr Soratham congratulated all the athletes for having taking part and performing at their best at the event and went on to add that sports are a great way of bringing unity and friendship within school students and they also promote physical and mental health. He urged the players to continue playing and practicing so one day they can hopefully represent Phuket FC.
At the closing ceremony, trophies were presented to the winning football teams as follows: – Muang Thalang School – winner – Kathu Wittaya School – first runner up – Wittayalai Technic Phuket – second runner up – Phuket Wittayalai – third runner up
Individual prizes were awarded to Kanathip Lanee/Muang Thalang (outstanding center forward), Attapol Chueychana/Phuket Wittayalai (outstanding midfielder), Supasil Muanmart/Kathu Wittaya (outstanding center back), Nanpreecha/Muang Thalang (outstanding goalkeeper), Watcharasak Songpan/Muang Thalang (outstanding manager), Pornchai Dueramae/Muang Thalang (outstanding coach), Doa Rung Wittaya team (best manner), Patarapol Chaman/Wittayalai Technic Phuket (best score maker – 10 goals).
