On Sunday 31st August 2014, around 10,000 Thailand and Myanmar supporters turned out to watch the under 23 Thai national football team take on the Myanmar under 19s in a friendly match organized as a warm-up game to prepare for the upcoming 2014 ASEAN Games. The game was the first of three warm-up matches ahead of the games to be held at Phuket’s Surakul Stadium.
It was Thailand who took the lead in the fourth minute of the match, but only 3 minutes later Myanmar equalized. However, from then on it was pretty much a one-sided affair with Thailand going in 4 – 1 up at half time.
It was much the same in the second half with Thailand having the majority of the play and equaling their 1st half tally of four goals, with the score at the final whistle 8 – 1 to Thailand.
In the second of the three warm up games, Thailand will take on Phuket FC on Wednesday 3rd September 2014, kick-off is scheduled for 6.30pm. The final game will be against Qatar on Sunday 7th also at 6.30pm. Tickets for the remaining games are priced at 200 baht.
