Phuket FC, currently at 5th place in their league table, are to take on 10th placed Trat FC in their Thai Yamaha League 1 fixture today (25th May 2013), with the game being played at Trat city’s Central Sports Stadium.
It really should be a make or break game for Phuket FC’s Coach Paniphol Kerdyaem, who has so far only managed to steer the team to four victories out of 11 games, in what is according to the Club’s Chairman Pamuke Achariyachai “the year Phuket goes to the Thai Premier league.”
After seeing their team go from a 2 goal lead to just earn 1 point in a disappointing 2-2 draw against 17th positioned Rayong FC last weekend, a large number of the fans were calling for the coach to be sacked. However, Pamuke Achariyachai says that he is giving coach Paniphol his full support.
Some media reported after last week’s game that the fans were wrong to vent their anger at the coach as they did. However, it is not the fans that have been promising to take the team to the Thai Premier League from long before the season even started, and if the management and coaching staff still believe they can, as stated in last week’s match program, then they need to start getting 3 points from games, and fast!
Tonight’s game can be seen on True Vision cannel 114 with kick-off being at 6pm.
