On 8th May 2013 at The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa Phuket, Assistant Minister of Social Development and Human Security – Mr. Wimol Jantjirawutthikul presided over an ASEAN workshop entitled “Establishment of a Network of Experts for ASEAN”. The workshop focused on what empowerment would be given to people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups when it comes to Thailand joining ASEAN in 2015.

The meeting was held to give the target group a chance to exchange experiences and international policies. At the end of the workshop it was agreed that a network of specialist ASEAN entrepreneurs should be established to provide education for those affected.

Mr. Wimol said Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has assigned the Minister of Social Development and Human Security to push social assistance policies for disabled and disadvantaged people in society.
