Phuket, Thailand, 30 May 2018 – Marriott International’s leading resorts in Phuket joined forces hosting an event aimed to raise awareness about the motorcycle safety among Thai children. Almost 60 children from Siray Bay High School attended the event which was held at The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa, Phuket, to learn about road safety and the importance of wearing a helmet when traveling by motorcycle.

Renaissance Phuket supports worldwide earth hour movement for the environment by going dark for one hour
Phuket, Thailand – March 26, 2018 – Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa went dark for one hour on March 24 to shine a light on climate action in support of Earth Hour 2018. The hotel joined millions around the world in turning off its lights at 8:30 p.m. local time to illuminate a powerful message about environmental awareness and action. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) created the annual global environmental awareness event 11 years ago to emphasize the threat of climate change.
Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa participated by turning off non-essential lights, lighting candles at the bar, playing unplugged music, and serving complimentary green drinks from 8.30 pm. – 9.30 pm. Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa will also participate in Marriott International’s drive to raise funds.

The hotel joined millions around the world in turning off lights for one hour on March 25 at 8.30 pm. local time to illuminate a powerful message about environmental awareness and action. The annual global environmental awareness event was created and instituted by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in 2007 to emphasize the threat of climate change.
Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa took part by dimming and turning off non-essential interior lighting, using candlelight for all tables in restaurants and inviting the guests to light the candles at daybed area.
Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa also entertained the guests during the Earth Hour with acoustic live band and served pass around green drink as complimentary at Sand Box restaurant from 8.30 – 9.90 pm. By demonstrating these efforts on social media, Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa will be participating in Marriott International’s drive to raise funds for WWF, where US $1 will be donated for each Marriott property that tweets their Earth Hour activities.
