This Is Us is the name of the seventh studio album from American Grammy-nominated international pop boy band Backstreet Boys. As becoming a four-piece band (Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McLean), this album will be the second album and will be released on October 5, 2009 in the UK through RCA Records, October 6 in the US through Jive, and later all over the world through Sony Music.

They have reunited with previous collaborator and producer Max Martin  Ryan Tedder, Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly, Jim Jonsin, RedOne and T-Pain for the album as well.

Backstreet Boys plan on spending the second half of 2009 and all of 2010 on the road. A European tour has already been announced and a full North American headlining tour will be announced shortly. Tour dates can be found on the group’s official website www.backstreetboys.com.

Les Paul, the pioneer guitarist and inventor of electric guitars has died from complications of pneumonia in New York at the age of 94.

Les Paul is recognized with developing one of the first solid-body electric guitars, multi-track recording, overdubbing, and contributed to the birth of rock.

He’s also credited with inventing the eight-track tape recorder and guitar hero who set a standard for musicianship.

Guns N’ Roses star Slash described him as an exceptionally brilliant man.

Rest in peace Les Paul.

VMAs has announced the list of performers at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Jay-Z and Lady Gaga have been booked to perform at VMAs stage. Other performers include Green Day, Pink, Taylor Swift and Muse.

Jay-Z is up for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Male Video for his song “D.O.A (Death of Auto-Tune). He will perform a song from upcoming album The Blueprint 3.

Lady Gaga (with Beyonce) leads with nine VMA nods – will take on a stage with her hit songs from album The Frame.

And again! Russell Brand will host the particular evening “2009 MTV Video Music Awards “ that will air live on Sunday, September 13 2009.
