May 2018 – Bangkok, Thailand : Kata Sea Breeze Resort is now a certified Thailand MICE Venue as certified by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) for its Sea Sky Conference Room having met the required standards. This opens up a new market for the resort now being able to be showcased worldwide as a 3 star + plus international MICE venue.

Kata Sea Breeze Resort represented by Ms.Rutchaneegorn Chalayondeja, Group Director of Business development of AKSARA Collection received the award from Mr.Weerasak Kowsurat The Minister of Tourism and Sport, during the award ceremony of Thailand MICE Venue Standard 2018 and MICE Standard Day 2018 held at BITEC Bangkok, Thailand.

Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has developed a Thailand MICE Venue Standard (TMVS) to push forward development of the MICE industry with aim of creating continuity and sustainability.

Thailand MICE Venue Standard (TMVS) is categories into 3 groups: convention centers, hotels and resorts, and various organizations that have meeting rooms such as provincial halls, museums, associations and institutes.

In order to be compliant with international standards, the TCEB has applied venue standard criteria from many countries in creating an assessment manual for the TMVS. This will serve as a tool for entrepreneurs in the development, monitoring, consultancy and assessment of venue quality standards.

The Sea Sky Conference Room of Kata Sea Breeze Resort boasts 330 square meters of meeting space and is ideal for conferences and banquet functions. Located on the 5th floor, the Sea Sky Conference Room overlooks the resorts gardens and pools with both open air and air conditioned options.
