Tree House Kids Club by Angsana Laguna Phuket made a Haunted Halloween Houses and Not-too-Spooky Walks for Kids on Tuesday 31 October 2017. This outdoor haunted hike, where children were visited by zombies, wolfmen, vampire, Thai ghost, good and bad witches, and other creepy characters. Afterward, hit the Nethermead for an all-ages Halloween-themed carnival started with ‘ Trick or Treat Parade ‘ around the resort, then continued with Halloween movie, popcorn, games and treats. 60 children had joined our activities and they had so MUCH FUN!

Thursday, 26 October, 2017 is considered the most important day of the five-day Royal Cremation Ceremony for the late King Rama 9 as it was the actual cremation that his body was cremated at the Royal Crematorium in Bangkok but some majors areas around Thailand made ceremony which allowed the nation to take part in paying a final tribute to His Majesty the late king. Saphan Hin, Ketho Temple and Manik Temple were the three locations on Phuket where people were able to offer Dok Mai Jan as part of the state funeral of beloved King.

Starting with Angsana Laguna Phuket launched the project “Make good deeds for our beloved King” by providing 1,000 sets of biscuits and fresh waters to the people who attended the ceremony at Manik Temple.

Our volunteers from each departments gathered to help the bakery department baked cookies. With everyone’s helping hands and hearts, our 1,000 sets of cookies have successfully packed and served on 26th October 2017 by representatives from Angsana Laguna Phuket.

An Australian national – Michal is no stranger to Angsana, having helmed the Banyan Tree and Angsana integrated resorts at Laguna Lăng Cô, Central Vietnam as Area General Manager since 2015. His latest role continues a career spanning more than 25 years in the hospitality Industry. Prior to joining our Angsana Hotels, Michal was the General Manager for The Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel and previously the Pan Pacific Hotel in Bangkok.

Thailand, September 2017 – EarthCheck, the world’s leading sustainable travel and tourism organization has certified Angsana Laguna Phuket and six other business units – Angsana Villas Resort Phuket, Angsana Vacation Club, Banyan Tree Phuket, Cassia Phuket, Banyan Tree Spa and Laguna Golf Phuket with the Silver EarthCheck Certification for the 3rd consecutive year.

The achievement is a recognition of Laguna Phuket’s sustainability efforts in Thailand. To continue achieving the EarthCheck Silver Certification, businesses are required to maintain a strong sustainable policy and implement an environmental action plan for proper monitoring and measurements on key performance areas.

Angsana Laguna Phuket, offering vibrant rooms and villas on Bangtao beach, Phuket, first joined EarthCheck in 2012 through the initiative of the Banyan Tree Group to maintain its commitment to sustainable operations to the highest level – building a better society for all while integrating green practices into the operations.

“Keep Phuket Clean by our hearts and hands” is an organised beach cleanup event initiated by the Phuket Hotels Association’s Environmental & Sustainability Working Group members’ and is supported by the Phuket Governor and Tourism Authority Thailand.

The sister hotels of Laguna Phuket starts with Angsana Laguna Phuket, Angsana Villas Resort Phuket , Banyan Tree Phuket and Cassia Phuket collaborated with government, local schools and university representatives work hands in hands for clearing all debris left from the heavy rain.

Phuket, Thailand, July 2017 — Angsana Laguna Phuket is delighted to announce the arrival of Executive Chef Jens Heier to the beachfront resort. With over 30 years experience in the hospitality and dining industry, Chef Jens brings his global knowledge and culinary expertise to all four restaurants in Angsana Laguna Phuket.

Chef Jens was born in 1969 Heidelberg, Germany. Inspired by his mother, his passion for cooking and curiosity to see the world motivated him to start his career when he was only 13 years old becoming the youngest chef with a diploma at 20 after his graduation in 1989. During his career, he has received many honors including cooking for Queen Silvia of Sweden, Thai royalty as well as Hollywood celebrities such as Jamiroqua, Lionel Ritchie, Madonna, Kate Moss and others.

Prior to his career at Angsana Laguna Phuket, Chef Jens had been working in luxury hotels in Samui and Pattaya in Thailand and has 15 years of experience working in Asia under the Onyx Hospitality Group as Culinary Director in charge of corporate operations for all Onyx Group properties in Asia. He had also been voted twice for chef of the year in 2 different continents, Berlin Germany and Seoul South Korea. He has also been a part of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Eastern Seaboard as a Conseiller Culinaire which offers profound insights on gastronomic dining.

Believing in fresh and honest cuisine, Chef Jens said simplicity in creating dishes is the ultimate challenge. “Listening to our guests is very important as they are good indicators. I always prefer to tailor make a menu in order to achieve the goal of ultimate satisfaction. Nowadays, we see less of the molecular cooking and find more focus on flavour, quality and honesty, therefore nothing beats a handcrafted dish. At Angsana I will contribute my local and oversea talents together with food and beverage team to create those new menus and experiences that deliver and exceed our guest needs and expectations” says Chef Jens.

Born in Italy and passionate for Italian and French cuisine as well as a profound love of Thai cooking, Souf Chef Marco Cacia, carries his knowledge and experience to Angsana Laguna Phuket. Chef Marco began his career at a young age in 2011, undertaking culinary adventures in well-known restaurants in Italy, Spain and Australia. Prior to joining Angsana Laguna Phuket, Chef Marco was a Sous Chef at Amari Vougue Krabi.
