The Annual Marriott Milestone’s Gala Dinner and Long-Serving Awards Ceremony, which was held at Mai Khao Ballroom of JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, gave recognition to 71 associates who have completed 5, 10, 15, 20 years of service thus far and the man of the night, the role model for our Marriott’ associates, Mr. Trevor Denman May, General Manager of Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach who have already put in 25 years of service with the Marriott International.

Colombo, 14 November 2017 – ONYX Hospitality Group, one of the region’s leading hotel management companies, will launch a brand-new Amari hotel in the Sri Lankan capital city of Colombo.

Developed in collaboration with Winil Holdings, a subsidiary of Sri Lanka-based Winil Gems Group, Amari Colombo will be strategically located in the Kollupitiya commercial district of the capital, within close proximity to the official residence of the Prime Minister, the US Embassy and the Kollupitiya bus and train stations. Recently (on 7 November), “Laguna Phuket Triathlon” was named Best Amateur Sports Event of the Year in Thailand (Silver) at Sports Industry Awards & Conference (SPIA Asia) 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand. A collaboration between Amari hotels and resorts in Bangkok, Pattaya and Hua Hin and Chulalongkorn University’s Centre of Excellence on Hazardous Substance Management, “Amari & Chula Love Earth” is entering its second year and is aimed at raising public awareness on the importance of proper disposal and recycling of electronic waste such as old digital cameras, notebooks, mobile phones, printers, mobile phone batteries and chargers.
