Phuket’s “Six of the Best” Charity Event

Phuket’s “Six of the Best” Charity EventSix of Phuket’s top restaurant & resort chefs will come together on May 25th 2013 for another “Six of the Best” charity dinner to be held at Paresa Resort, in aid of underprivileged women and girls.

The fundraising event showcases the culinary talents of six of Phuket’s most acclaimed chefs – each designing a course to the six-course gala unique dining experience, matched with fine wine.

The participants for this year’s event are Paresa, Anantara, The Pullman Arcadia, Taste Restaurant in Surin, Vset Restaurant, and Joes Downstairs restaurant.

The chefs will be supported by their suppliers who will donate all the ingredients and wine – ensuring all proceeds go to “The Good Shepherd Sisters” charity. “Without the generous support of all the resorts and restaurants participating and all our suppliers this event would not be possible”, explained Ryan Arboleda, Paresa’s Executive Chef.

There are seven charity organizations under “The Good Shepherd Sisters” in both Phuket and around Thailand. They help women and children who have been abused, are caught up in human trafficking or the sex industry, are poor or are suffering from HIV. They are given shelter, counselling and the opportunity to re-educate themselves and, thus, earn a decent living. Goods made by the women are sold at Paresa’s boutique as well as some of the other top resorts in Phuket.

“The ‘Six of the Best’ fundraiser was extremely well-supported and successful in the previous two years. Teaming up with the talented line-up of the island’s top chefs each year, we hope to continue to be able to support this important charity”, emphasized Scot Toon, Paresa’s General Manager.

The Good Shepherd Sisters ( is a non-denominational Thai registered charity helping all those in need.
