Phuket’s Public Forum on Children’s Ethics

Phuket’s Public Forum on Children’s EthicsA public forum was recently held by PPAO on developing a sense of ethic (“Tong Hor” in Chinese) in young people. The event, chaired by Chief Executive – Paiboon Upattising, took place at Satree Phuket School. PPAO Advisor – Boonserm Suwannarathphoom, Chairperson of Phuket Education Council – Bantoon Thongtan, parents and guardians, joined the meeting. The forum was led by MC Prachuap Maipanich.

The120 participating parents were organized into four groups, whereby ideas and views were exchanged and the principles of Tong Hor discussed.

Mr Paiboon said he was delighted to see so many participants but explained that the “Tong Hor,” which is a set of moral principles, is best learned by example, which is parents have to be a good role model for their children.

“This public meeting is part of the Phuket education reform which requires participation from all members of the public to be successful,” said Mr Paiboon.

He ended by thanking the organizers of the meeting, the committee and the parents.
