The 2nd Phuket Community Foundation or PCF Race Day, at Latitude Marquee, in Laguna Phuket’s compound of hotels, was a nice family-friendly fun-filled afternoon of active activities to raise money for several worthy charitable and social projects run by PCF.
My video shows President of the foundation, Assistant Professor Pranee Sakulpipatana, acting as MC in Thai and English & then a speech by Alasdair Forbes, the Vice President of the Phuket Community Foundation, then the Vice Governor of Phuket Somkiat Sankosudirek gives a speech in Thai, and joins all the committee board members and volunteers, to symbolically open the fun day of charity activities by squeezing their rubber ducks in unison, before the great rubber duck race was held later in the afternoon.
After the opening, I filmed some of the stage performances with singing by students of Phuket International Academy and impressive acts by children of Phuket Academy of Dance & in between a children’s’ contest for ‘Delightful Duckling’ costumes.
I also filmed some of the various activities such as a kids trampoline, ‘beat the goalie’ penalty kicks, rides in classic cars etc.
Then I had an interview with Alasdair Forbes, who was one of the main organisers and volunteers.
After the interview I filmed some of the fine food and drinks being served by some of the many sponsors, the close final of the mixed men & women’s dragon boat race, while others prepared for later races in canoes/kayaks, a home-made raft race and a cardboard box race for kids.
It was a shame I could not stay longer, but I thank PhuketBestEvent for their photos to see these later races and the final Dream Gallery Great Phuket Rubber Duck race.
More details are on www.phuketcharity.org where they have announced the winning ticket numbers of the Rubber Duck Race.
