Bangkok (September 24, 2015) – To support the Decade of Action for Road Safety, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. held a “Safe Driving for Fun with Honda City and Honda Jazz” activity for members of the media from Chiang Mai and Phuket at Honda Safety Driving Center on Ramkhamhaeng Road in Bangkok. Honda also offered a new driving experience in Honda City and Honda Jazz, the sub-compact cars with sleek style that promise a fun-to-drive feeling and high safety standards, on Bangkok-Chachoengsao route.
Mr. Sompop Patipanthada, Marketing General Manager, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, “Honda always places a strong emphasis on building a culture of road safety and good driving etiquette in the Thai society alongside our commitment to bring the joy of mobility to people. All Honda vehicles are fully equipped with safety technologies. However, driver behavior is another contributive factor for greater road safety. The Honda Safety Driving Center has been established to provide safe driving courses to general public, including theory- and demonstration-based training. It is the high-standard driving training center in Thailand and South East Asia.”
“Safe Driving for Fun with Honda City and Honda Jazz” was held to provide safe driving skills and knowledge to the media, both through theoretical training and demonstration. The activity started with building accurate understanding about road safety by instructors who have undergone specialized training in Japan. The Theoretical session covered preparation prior to driving, basic car maintenance, driving etiquette, and fuel saving tips. The Demonstration session covered airbag demo, a check list before starting a car, proper seating posture, the blind spots when driving, the working of ABS system, and steering techniques with hands-on practice. Besides courses provided at Honda Safety Driving Center, interested public can also attend the course being offered under Honda Dream Road project at 135 participating Honda dealers and service centers nationwide towards the end of 2015.
In addition to the safe driving training, the activity also gave media participants a new experience of fun-packed, safety-assured driving on Bangkok-Chachoengsao route in Honda City and Honda Jazz. The two best-selling sub-compact models from Honda are powered by a 117-horsepower, 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine, which is E85 compatible, in conjunction with a new Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) developed under Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology. Both models are fully equipped with safety technologies, including six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and a Multi-angle Rearview Camera with three-level adjustment. More importantly, Honda City and Honda Jazz also received a five-star rating from ASEAN NCAP safety assessment—a guarantee that both models are quality automobiles with the highest safety standards.
The fun drive on Bangkok-Chachoengsao route gave media participants a new experience of great driving performance from these two sub-compact models as they appreciate local cultures, ways of life, and natural surroundings at major attractions of Chachoengsao. The trip included stopovers to pay respect to the biggest reclining Ganesha image in Thailand at Wat Saman Rattanaram and the replica of the sacred Phra Putthasothon Buddha image at Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan, as well as enjoyment in an ice cream workshop at European-styled Mini Murrah Farm before returning to Bangkok.
