BABA IKI – A New Playground For Japanese Cuisine


Sri panwa, the luxury pool villa resort and culinary destination on the South Eastern tip of Phuket, has opened its newest gourmet experience – Baba IKI restaurant.

Guests can choose to sit outside on the veranda, with stunning views of the sunset over the ocean, or relax indoors with a full view of the buzzing open-kitchen. Seating approximately 60 people in the main dining area, the teppanyaki and sushi counters are ideal for guests dining alone or couples while the main dining table for a group of friends or family.

Created by the highly trained sushi, teppanyaki and yakitori chef at Sri panwa, this authenticJapanese restaurant features a delicious menu focussed on the freshest ingredients and specialty flavours from Japan.

Teppan means iron plate, and yaki, means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried. Teppanyaki refers to dishes cooked using an iron plate in Japan such as the Phuket Lobster and Hida Teppanyaki served with fried mix vegetables, clear soup and fried garlic rice. Other dishes served at Baba IKI range from fresh sashimi, the Japanese delicacy and Sushi, the most famous Japanese spread over sushi rice to Don, a Japanese ‘rice bowl dish’ consisting of fish, meat and vegetables simmered together and served over rice and Wagyu Kare Ralsu Don, Wagyu Striploin with Japanese Curry. There are also many different salad and soup options, including the Shirauo Salad with crispy silver fish, mixed green and miso dressing.
