On 2nd October 2013 at Phuket Provincial Hall, Phuket Vice Governor – Sommai Preechasil presided over a meeting regarding a management plan for integrated water resources development which is being looked into by Phuket Office of Natural Resources and Environment and Wilailuck University.

We need to ascertain the areas which are prone to flooding and drought and to ensure that we are able to find ways of solving the problems so that they do not affect the people living in those areas.
“An integrated plan to solve the problem of flooding and drought in the area is being implemented with cooperation from relevant Government Departments, Provincial and local governments, who are also to provide a database of budget requirements.”
