On April 28th, 2010, at Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa, Korn Jatikawanich, the Finance Minister, presided over a seminar of the provincial and regional revenue officers held during April 28th – 30th, 2010. In attendance were Winai Wittawatkarnwech, the Director of Revenue Department, and Wichai Praisa-ngob, the Governor of Phuket.
Winai Wittawatkarnwech, the Director of Revenue Department, said that the seminar was held in order to analyze the result of tax excises in the first 6 months of 2010 budget year, to identify problems of tax excise which will later be used to plan the tax excise management, to consider the business growth or changes due to social, economic and political movements, and educate the revenue executives and officers to perform better work.
Winai revealed that in the first 6 months of the 2010 budget year, Revenue Department has 476,714 million baht of tax excise – much more than the expected number by 56,235 million baht. He mentioned that if all revenue officers work together in the same direction and proper tax excise management, the excised tax can bring a lot of benefits to our country.
