A Potential Development Project for PPAO Council Members was launched on August 1st 2014 by PPAO Chief Executive – Paiboon Upattising. The launch was attended by Deputy Chief Executive – Soratham Jinda, Chief Advisor – Boonserm Suwannarathphoom, Chief Administrator – Watcharin Pathomwattanapong, Council Chairman – Pradit Saengchan, Council Deputy Chairman – Sakchai Chaowai, Council members, division heads and other officials.
The ongoing project, which is being attended by 30 council members, is divided into two components – a lecture program which was delivered by speakers from the Phuket Provincial Administration Promotion Office, on August 1st, and field trips to Chiang Mai, Payao, and Chiang Rai from August 2nd – 7th.
It is hoped that the program will educate PPAO Council members in a range of subjects including legislations, rules and regulations relating to the operations of local Council. Along with developing the potential of the council members, the program will also provide networking experiences arising out of meeting with member counterparts in other provinces.
According to Mr Watcharin, PPAO works closely with local communities throughout the island. As such, the public holds high expectations of the organization in solving their problems and delivering efficient public services. To this end PPAO has plans to increase potential and efficacy of its legislative personnel, who works in tandem with administration section, in order to raise the overall standard of PPAO services.
Mr Paiboon urged PPAO Council members, who were all selected by the public, to work to their utmost capacity and transparency. Their works, he said, is important as a checking mechanism for the PPAO operations and ensuring that they are open to public scrutiny.
