Phuket trains sea rescue lifeguard volunteers

On April 19th, 2010, at the Phuket Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (PDPM), Smith Palwatwichai, a Vice Governor of Phuket, presided over the opening of Andaman Sea Rescue Training. There was lots of PDPM staff, volunteers and related officers attending the training, which was held in order to produce qualified rescuers to look after and help people facing incidents in the area of the Andaman Sea.

The trainees were trained how to use equipment in life saving and how to perform the best rescue if there are accidents in the sea.

Every related officer believes that this would help to assure tourists and visitors coming to Phuket how safe they are during their stay here and in other Andaman provinces.
