Phuket tour-guide training

On March 12th, 2010, at the conference room of the old Phuket Community College in Prince of Songkhla University Sapan Hin, Muang, Phuket, Smith Palwaywachai, a Vice Governor of Phuket, presided over the opening of ‘Thai Uniqueness and Personnel Development Training 3rd Group’ which was a part of a ‘Career Sprout Project’ held under the cooperation between the Thai Tour Guide Association and Phuket Tour Guide Association.

There were 100 tour guide working in Phuket attending the training. This training focused on standard tour leading, 2008 Tour Business and Tour Guide Act, Service Psychology, Thai Social History, Tourist Behavior, Cultural Difference, Hotel Management, & Marketing.

Panompon Thammachartniyom, the President of Phuket Tour Guide Association, said that the purpose of the training was to develop the tour guides’ ability which helps to stimulate the economy of the island. The training will be finished at the end of this month and it’s the last season of training for this year.
