On June 28th 2010, at the meeting room of Phuket Provincial Hall, Wichai Praisa-ngob, the Governor of Phuket, presided over a meeting of the Thalang monument’s headstone point preparation committee. The committee included Tawichart Intarit – Head of Phuket Cultural Office; Atjima Nooking – Head of Thalang National Museum; Banyat Chariyalurpong – the Vice President of Phuket Cultural Association, Chan Wongsatayanont – a member of the committee of the Two Heroines Foundation; and related government and private sectors.
The main agenda of the meeting was to inform the committee members that the Ministry of Fine Arts had approved the Thalang Monument construction project. The monument would be constructed in Moo.3 Thepkrasatri Sub–district, Thalang District, Phuket. In addition, the committee discussed about the further required documents for the project, the project plan and design, Terms of Reference or TOR for the project’s detail study, and the project’s headstone placing date.
Wichai said that the project was progressing well. The 96 rais of land for the project plan design competition was finished, but primarily there would be an area development of 30 rais of area which was the 1st phase of the project. He finally concluded that the headstone placing ceremony would be held on August 12th 2010.
