Phuket shelter donates to low income and homeless people

Phuket shelter donates to low income and homeless people On Tuesday 28th October 2014 at the Social Development Center 40, Ban Mit Maitree Phuket held an activity which saw them give 2,000 baht to low 62income and homeless people. The event was organised with support from the Social Welfare Services Bureau and was presided over by Phuket Vice Governor – Khun Somkiat Sangkaosuttirat.

Speaking at the event, Khun Somkiat said “Grants given to low income families, the homeless and those with disabilities will help improve their quality of life and position in society, and we’re sure those who have received the grants will put the money to good use.”

Of the 62 people who received the donations, 18 people were from Tambol Mai Khao, 5 from Tambol Koh Keaw, 4 from Tambol Chalong, 4 from Sri Sunthorn, 5 from Tambol Cherng Talay, 10 from Tambol Thepkasattri, and 10 from Tambol Kamala. The total amount donated was an amazing 124,000 baht.

Ban Mit Maitri is a government-run shelter for the needy located at 100/1 Phuket Gateway Moo 5, Mai Khao, Thalang.
