To prepare for Thailand’s National Mother’s Day, a meeting among PPAO officials was held at its Office in Phuket town on July 25th 2014. Chaired by Chief Executive – Paiboon Upattising, the meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Executive – Soratham Jinda, Chief Advisor – Boonserm Suwannarathphoom, Chief Administrator – Watcharin Pathomwattanapong, Council Chairman – Pradit Saengchan, Deputy Council Chairman – Sakchai Chaowai, Council members and other involved officials.
Celebrations for National Mother’s Day are scheduled to take place on August 9 at the Phuket Metropole Hotel. The meeting discussed details of the preparations and the day’s activities and agreed on followings: awards for selected outstanding mother of the year 2014; reconciliation program demonstration by the Third Area Navy; Health for Mothers demonstration program delivered by medical specialists from PPAO Hospital; and stage entertainment by 1,200 women representatives from Phuket districts.
In relation to the Outstanding Mothers award, PPAO has requested all sub district administration offices (SAO) to screen and shortlist mothers for the award. The qualities of the mothers stipulated by PPAO are: diligence, patience, sacrifice, and loving. Mothers shortlisted should also possess excellent ability to bring up children to be upstanding members of society. Additionally, mothers eligible for selection should be Thai nationals who have domiciled in Phuket for at least a year. They should also be less than 60 years old and socially accepted in their society. Supporting documents including: short history of mothers, photocopies of house registrations and ID cards, photos of mothers and of mothers and children, should be presented before August 1st.
PPAO will announce the awardees on August 6th, and they should report to PPAO to receive their awards on August 9th, at 8am.
