Phuket plans to help single moms

On March 10th, 2010, at the Provincial Hall’s conference room, Teerayuth Aiumsakul, a Vice Governor of Phuket, presided over the meeting of the Committee of Social Problem Situation Consideration consisting of Tawichart Intarit, Head of Phuket Cultural Office, Pannee Sitthikarn, Head of Social Development and Human Security Office Phuket, Supattarachai Muangkerd, Phuket’s Vice Prosecuting Attorney, and other committee members.

The main agenda of the meeting was to find out solutions for Phuket social problems and to prevent the potential problems. From data collecting, the rising problem in Phuket now is lots of single moms in Phuket raising their children by their own and also the problem of many orphans. These children are easily convinced into bad ways which will cause social problems in the future. Therefore, the committee agreed to study, survey and try to solve the problems.
