Phuket PAO discusses ‘Clean up the World’ project

Phuket PAO discusses ‘Clean up the World’ project On August 19th, 2013 at the meeting room of the Environmental Working Group Office, Phuket Incinerator, PPAO Council Member – Mr. Saroj Angkanapilas acting on behalf of Chief Executive of PPAO -Mr.Paiboon Upattising joined a meeting to discuss about the ongoing “Clean up Phuket” campaign being held to support the “Clean up the world” project. President of Thai Environmental and Community Development Association- Khun Ying Chodchoi Sophonphanit presided over the meeting.

From 2002 – 2004, the Thai Environmental and Community Development Association (Magic Eyes) together with the Phuket province held a project entitled “Phuket Recycle” which was aimed at promoting the provinces garbage management. The project has seen schools and hotels separate their garbage at their premises, and it also encourages students, youths and people in the area to reduce the amount of garbage and about garbage management. There were 95 organizations who joined the campaign and during the time it was held 8,022.9 tonnes of recyclable garbage was collected saving an estimated 48,761,703.23 THB.
