On 16th May 2013 at No.135 Phang Nga Road, Phuket, Phuket Governor – Maitree Intasut presided over the opening of the Phuket Thai Women’s Empowerment Funds Office. Deputy Commander of Phuket Police – Peerayuth Karachedi and Director of Phuket Thai Women Empowerment Funds Office – Natthaporn Phanitpichetwong also joined Khun Maitree at the opening.
The Phuket Thai Women Empowerment Funds Office has been opened to be a meeting place for all Phuket’s ladies, a monthly project approval Committee meeting area, and a place to store documents for each sub-district to help ease management.
Khun Natthaporn said “Thai Women Empowerment Funds is an important Government policy. Women have developed themselves, women are knowledgeable in all dimensions, leaders in every industry, and now they have access to funding that are low-interest or interest-free. The Government has seen the importance of women’s power and it is now focusing on providing women with selection committees to help manage themselves fairly and thoroughly, at both district and provincial levels.”
