Phuket Livestock Office inspects meat shops

Phuket Livestock Office inspects meat shopsOn 6th August 2014, Phuket Vice Governor – Somkiat Sangkhaosutthirak and Khun Weerasit Puthipairoj – Chief of the Phuket Provincial Livestock Office, provincial health officers and a number of institutes together inspected a number of meat sale shops following the ‘Cutting Board Cleaning’ project. Outlet’s inspected included Makro Supercenter, BigC Supercenter, and the Tesco Lotus Kathu Branch.

According to the slaughterhouse and meat shop development project of the Livestock Development Department, committees have been appointed to monitor the shops and slaughterhouses to maintain the aims of the project and to standardize the industry.

The project is intent on urging meat shop owners to keep their premises clean and buy meat only from the certified slaughterhouses.
