Phuket joined world record paper folding attempt to honor H.M. the Queen

On August 6th 2010, at the new provincial hall of Phuket, there were a lot of people including Phuket residents, students, phuketgovernment officers, and members of Phuket Red Cross getting together to join the world record paper holding attempt.

The event was held to show people around the world that Thai people were harmonized and they love their queen. The event was held in other provinces of Thailand at the same time for 30 minutes, organised by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, in order to celebrate HM the Queen’s 78th birthday.

The whole country was aiming to make 100 million different shapes of folded paper with significant meanings. The star shape meant hope and faith. The bird shape meant peace, and the heart shape meant Thai peoples’ love for HM the queen.
