A three day training course to train food and beverage professionals was recently held for Phuket’s hospitality businesses at the Metropole Hotel in Phuket Town. PPAO Chief Advisor – Boonserm Suwannarathphoom presided over the launch of the training course, and he was accompanied by Phuket Human Resources Development Association President – Nares Srinak, Andaman F & B Managers Association President – Supachai Buakam, PPAO officials.
The course, which took place from August 28th – 30th 2014, was attended by 40 participants made up of F & B personnel from local hotels. The course was taught by Mathayom Suetrong, a former F & B manager with long and valuable experience in the field.
The course received financial assistance from PPAO whose policy it is to support business concerns that have contributed to PPAO’s hospitality revenues. It aimed to train and raise the standard of F & B professionals to international levels and prepare them for the upcoming AEC, which in turn will contribute to a sustainable tourism market.
Mr Boonserm believes that the high standard of local F & B professionals will not only make a good impression on tourists but also contribute to the hospitality market as a whole. Phuket, he said, is already famous for its natural beauty and excellent service-minded personnel. Developing professionalism in this important sector will bring more income to the tourist industry and help to prepare Phuket tourism for the upcoming AEC when competition will be high.
Supachai Buakam, President of the Andaman F & B Managers Association, thanked PPAO for its support.
