On August 9th 2010, Kecha Chuechit, the Village Leader of Moo 2, Rassada Sub-district, and representatives of Rassada residents visited Wichai Praisa-ngob, the Governor of Phuket. They asked the governor to postpone the opening of Phuket’s second bus terminal on Thepkrasatri Road. They worried that after the bus terminal opened, the traffic around the terminal would be worse than at this time.
They also mentioned that the new bus terminal would lead to other social problems including drugs, crime, and pollution. They wanted the related official organizations to ensure people living around the new terminal prevent such problems.
Meanwhile, the governor said that he would call related government officers to discuss the mentioned problems before the opening of the second bus terminal, previously due in September.
