Sompong Onprasert, Head of Office of Commercial Affairs Phuket (OCAP), said that OCAP, together with the egg farmers, had provided cheap eggs to sell to Phuket residents due to the expensive egg problem in Thailand. People can come to buy the cheap eggs in front of OCAP’s office twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. On the mentioned days there would be 1,000 eggs available.
Sompong added that the egg selling had already got good feedback from Phuket residents. However, some people were concerned about egg shortages, but Sompong expressed his confidence that there would not be an egg shortage in Phuket. The island imports eggs from nearby provinces consisting of Krabi, Phang Nga, and Suratthani.
He further mentioned the concern about sugar shortages saying that Phuket was not facing the problem at the moment.
