Honorary Chairman of TCT estimates Phuket tourism industry is back

26 August 2009 – Honorary Chairman of Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT)-Vichit Na Ranong- unveiled that Phuket tourism industry is getting back on track at the end of this year and suggested the government to explain circumstances in Thailand to foreigners. Those include swine flu and politics situations.

“Since Phuket had been held a meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers in July, Thailand’s image is better in foreigners’ eyes and there will be more tourists come to Phuket even if it would be less than 2007.” said him.

He, however, expressed little concerns about government economic and tourism stimulus measures, “Government did quite well on tourism stimulation but it needs to ensure tourists a safety measure against swine flu and it’s worth to travel to Phuket.”
