About 5,000 US Navy sailors scheduled to dock at Phuket, expected 34 MB cash flow each day

22 September 2009 – Assistant Naval Attache US Embassy Mathew Ashley granted Phuket press to join visiting USS Ronald Reagan during taking shore leave on the island, 22-27 September 2009

Col. Wanchai Aekpornpit and many Phuket policemen also participated in.

“USS Ronald Reagan was floating in Andaman Sea before reaching Phuket and two more navy ships, VSS Howard and VSS Chancellorsville will visit Phuket as well.” said US 7th Fleet Rear Admiral Scott Habner.

“…..our sailors are interested in staying at Phuket and I think it’s been so long that we haven’t visited the island. This is the right time to come back here again…..” added him.

US 7th Fleet Rear Admiral Scott Habner told his boys how to behave during staying at Phuket.

USS Ronald Reagan, a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. It’s the ninth ship of the class “Nimitz”, was named in honor of former 40th US President Ronald Reagan.USS Ronald Reagan was the first ship to be named for a living former president.

During this time, US Navy sailors will join many activities, those include painting school buildings in Patong Child Care Center, Kalim School, Sainamyen School, Klongsai School, and so much more.
