This would feature a 4 or 6 lane elevated road starting from the 4029 intersection in Kathu and lead to Patong beach via a double tunnel through the Nakerd Mountain. It is believed the tunnel length from Patong to Kathu will be 1,581m, and from Kathu to Patong 1,613m. The total length, including the elevated roads, will be 3.08 kilometers.

The tunnel project is being proposed as a way of making the Kathu to Patong Beach journey shorter and less dangerous that the present route, and is currently in the environmental impact investigation stage.
