Phuket, March 30, 2019 – Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach went dark for one hour on March 30th to shine a light on climate action in support of Earth Hour 2019.
The hotel joined millions around the world in turning off its lights at 8:30 p.m. local time to illuminate a powerful message about environmental awareness and action. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) created the event 12 years ago to emphasize the threat of climate change.
Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach participated in Earth Hour by turning off the interior lighting at all of its outlets and using in-room messages to inform guests about Earth Hour. Guests has joined a special Earth Hour event at The Andaman Lawn, the popular outdoor function area that offers panoramic views of Nai Yang Bay and the Andaman Sea.
On the evening of Saturday March 30th, this idyllic setting has been transformed into an open-air movie theatre, complete with comfortable beanbag seating, allowing guests to sit back, relax and watch a screening of “Blue Planet”, the BBC’s breath-taking documentary that shines a light on the world’s oceans and marine ecosystems.
There were complimentary popcorn, cotton candy and soft drinks, and pizza packages offered for adults and kids to enjoy during Earth Hour.
