President Advisor Boonserm Suwannarathphoom was part of the team of Phuket officials led by Vice Governor Suthee Thongyaem who welcomed the judges of National Health Volunteer Contest as well as giving moral support to the local village health volunteers (VHVs) from Wichit subdistrict, who were shortlisted for the award.
Other officials presented were: PPAO Council Member Nuanchan Samart, Dr Kajornsak Kaewjaras from Phuket Public Health Office, and Mayor of Wichit Municipality Kreetha Chotiwitpipat. The panel of judges comprised of: President VHV Thailand Paitoon Boonarak, Deputy Minister of Health Services Support Dr Taret Kasasnairawiwong, Deputy Director of Planning Division Chulada Sukumalawan, former Director of Public Relations and Citizen Service Division Chuensuk Reuknam, and Deputy Director of Health Services Support Chatchai Suwannit. The judges gathered at the Basic Public Health Community Center at community 10 of Wichit subdistrict, to study the achievements of the volunteers as presented by Usa Sukprasert. The group was being judged on their performance in the areas of basic health care service and the establishment of a health insurance system. While expressing his delight that a local VHV group was shortlisted for such award, V/Gov Suthee said the final decision would rest on the judges alone. He highly praised Wichit VHVs for their strength and commitment in serving the community and hoped that the group would be a role model for other local VHVs. V/Gov Suthee ended by wishing the Wichit group the National VHV Award top prize.
