Phuket’s Ministry of Finance Office stretched to its limitThe Phuket Ministry of Finance Office was bustling yesterday, 12th December 2012, with people who were there to present their documentation for tax returns on the purchase of their first cars.

The deadline for tax return applications ends on December 31st meaning that more and more first time car buyers are turning up at the office every day. To begin with around 100 people were turning up a day, but now there are around 300-400 people a day.

There are been approximately 9,000 people in Phuket that purchased new cars as part of the government project.

Mr.Pairat Kurima – Phuket Excise said “We have increased the number of officials at our office to ensure we can serve the people. However, we would like to inform people to please prepare the required documents prior to coming to the office. There are a number of people turning up who have not prepared their documents meaning that people waiting behind them in the queue are waiting longer than necessary. Those requiring documents can download them from the Excise Department’s website.”
