At 03.00 UTC today, tropical storm “Conson” over the South China Sea, sustained wind of 110 km/hr, about 600 km southeast of Hanoi, Vietnam or Lat 17.2 °N, Long 111.0 °E, is moving west-northwestward with speed of about 18 km/hr. It is expected to pass southern Hainan Island and make landfall over upper Vietnam by tomorrow.
The prevailing southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand is intensifing. Abundant rain and isolated heavy falls are likely over the country. People along foothills and near waterways are warned of flash flood and water run-off during 16-18 July 2010. This will affect disaster provinces as followings: Nan, Phrae, Uttraradit, Nong Khai, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
Besides, winds-wave over the Andaman Sea and the Upper Gulf become stronger mainly over thundershower areas. All ships should proceed with caution during 16-20 July 2010.
