March 17, 2016 – 4 hotels under the Marriott International brand in Phuket recently get together in Thap Pla Village of Phangna province to plant at least 2,700 mangrove pods as part of their year-long plan CSR project.

The 4 hotels under Marriott International in Phuket who took the initiative in this project are JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort and Spa and the upcoming Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach. Forming a team of more than 250 associates, who volunteered to help make this world a little greener.

2,700 mangrove pods including 300 young white bean trees were planted on the approximately 57,280 square kilometers of the mangrove under the instructions of Ms. Kanokwan Homcha-aim, a representative from IUCN (International Union for Conversation of Nature).

The year-long plan CSR project will be taking place on every quarter of the year and by the end of 2016 they plan to plant at least 10,000 mangrove pods throughout Phuket.
